1924 SS Peter & Paul Parochial School Diploma Elmira NY Antique Framed 1924 Parochial School Diploma awarded to Mary Lena Simon upon completion of the prescribed course of study at SS. Peter and Paul’s Parochial School in Elmira, New York.
Dated June 23, 1924, this attractive antique diploma features elaborate early-20th-century typography and lithographed decoration, including a central religious emblem with cross, Bible and wreath, ornamental scrollwork, ribbon designs and detailed foliage.
The diploma retains the recipient’s beautifully handwritten name and an original signature at lower right. It remains displayed in an old dark wood-grain frame under glass, giving it excellent period presentation.
A nice piece of Elmira, New York local history and Catholic educational memorabilia, now more than 100 years old. It would appeal to collectors of antique diplomas, Catholic ephemera, New York history, genealogy and early school memorabilia.
