1928 Stewart-Warner Model 801 Series B 8-Tube Metal Casket TRF Radio:
$189.00

Antique Stewart-Warner Model 801 Series B 8-tube AC TRF radio, dating to approximately 1928–1929.

This is an early Stewart-Warner all-metal “casket” style table radio with a hammered metal cabinet, oval front escutcheon, dual control knobs, and single-dial tuning. The front escutcheon is clearly marked “Stewart-Warner – Made in U.S.A.” and retains the original tuning scale and period-style controls.

The chassis retains the correct early tube layout with factory-marked positions for 226, 227, 112A, and the set includes period vacuum tubes including Type 26, Type 27, and a Philco Type 80 rectifier. The radio also retains its large 4-gang tuning condenser, original power unit, cloth-covered wiring, and original internal components.

The power unit is marked:

Stewart-Warner

60 Cycles

105–130 Volts

38 Watts

An original Stewart-Warner Radio Inspection tag is still present inside the set, which is a nice original collector detail.

The radio weighs approximately 35.2 lbs.

Please note: the tuning dial drive cord is broken or detached, so the dial scale may not move properly with the tuning control. This appears to be a mechanical dial-drive issue.

The radio has not been electrically tested or powered on due to its age. No guarantee of electrical operation is made. It should be inspected and serviced by someone experienced with antique tube radios before attempting to use it.

This model was designed for use with an external speaker/reproducer, which is not included.

Cosmetically, the radio shows normal age-related wear, oxidation, dust, surface marks, and patina consistent with a nearly 100-year-old piece. The front panel and branding remain clearly visible. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.

Sold as-is for restoration, display, or collection.
