1930-1950 Vintage Adlington Lancashire Wedding Photos Church Garden Remembrance For Sale

Collection of original vintage photographs and photographic postcards, all removed from the same old family photograph album as the other Adlington and surrounding Lancashire material I am listing.

The collection is predominantly wedding and family photographs, showing several different wedding parties, brides, grooms, bridesmaids and relatives. There are both formal studio-style wedding portraits and outdoor group photographs, providing a lovely glimpse of local family and social history.

Also included are photographs connected with Adlington itself, including a view identified on the reverse as:

“Adlington Garden of Remembrance of those who fell in the Great War 1914–1918.”

There is also a particularly good photograph of a local church, together with other outdoor and family scenes.

Some photographs have handwritten names, dates or information on the reverse. One appears dated 1930, while another handwritten inscription appears to include a date in 1949. The collection therefore seems to span approximately the 1930s through to the 1950s.

A lovely untouched group from one Lancashire family album, particularly interesting for collectors of Adlington, Chorley district and Lancashire social history, genealogy, weddings and local photographic history.

Condition

Good vintage condition overall for their age, approximately 70–95 years old. As expected from photographs removed from an old family album, there is some age-related wear including light marks, surface wear, fading/toning, minor creasing and occasional album or mounting traces to the backs. Several have original handwritten annotations. No attempt has been made to clean or alter them, and I have left them exactly as found.
