This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 12 x 10 inches (305x254mm).

It shows a group of guests gathered for the inauguration of the micro-ray line between Lympe, Kent, and St. Inglevert, France, on 31st January 1931. The group, which includes the politician Sir Philip Sassoon, stands in front of a large hangar building at what is likely Lympne Aerodrome. This event marked the opening of the world\'s first public microwave radio link. The reverse of the photograph has a typed caption label and a photographer\'s ink stamp. The label reads: \"INAUGURATION OF THE MICRO-RAY LINE BETWEEN LYMPNE AND ST.INGLEVERT. A group of the guests who attended the inaugural ceremony. Sir Philip Sassoon is in the centre wearing light coat with dark collar.\"
