About the Map
Original vintage U.S. Geological Survey geologic map, issued by the Department of the Interior in 1932 as part of the Geologic Map of the United States. This large-format sheet covers the Western United States, including extensive portions of the Rocky Mountains, Great Plains, and western interior regions.
The map is color-coded to show major geologic formations and ages, with detailed legend panels identifying rock units from Precambrian through later periods. Fine linework, classic USGS coloration, and dense geological data reflect early 20th-century scientific cartography at a national scale.
Paper map measures approximately 27 x 46.5 inches. Condition is fair to good for age, with visible edge wear, creasing, small edge tears, and handling marks, primarily along the margins. The central map area remains intact and fully legible. Suitable for careful framing, academic reference, or vintage wall display.
An impressive and historically significant piece for collectors of USGS maps, geology, western U.S. history, or large-format vintage cartography.
