Wonderful piece of original prewar Camel cigarette advertising issued by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1934.
The colorful booklet is titled “Know Your Nerves” and features 20 New Nerve Tests, presented as fascinating and educational psychological tests. Throughout the booklet are period Camel cigarette advertisements, illustrations, photographs, celebrity/sports endorsements and promotional claims typical of 1930s tobacco advertising.
One particularly interesting interior feature is “The Home of Camel Cigarettes,” showing the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company plant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The front cover reads “Know Your Nerves” and “Camels Never Get On Your Nerves!” The illustrated back cover features an early Camel cigarette package and the slogan “Smoke As Many As You Want... They Never Get On Your Nerves!”

This original 1934 paper booklet shows age-related exterior wear, including edge and corner wear, rubbing, creasing, and wear/paper loss along the spine/fold. The interior pages are remarkably well preserved for their age with expected age toning and remain clean and highly presentable. Please enlarge and review all photographs carefully, including the spine close-up, as the photographs are an important part of the condition description.
A scarce and unusual piece of 1930s Camel / R.J. Reynolds tobacco advertising ephemera and a wonderful addition to a collection of early cigarette advertising, Camel memorabilia, or vintage advertising.
