About William Archibald Weldon:William Archibald Weldon was a celebrated designer known for his work with the Chase Brass & Copper Company and the Revere Copper and Brass Company in the 1930s. He served as the Director of Design for the company and is famous for creating several Art Deco bar ware products, including the Empire and the Zephyr cocktail shakers. His designs featured chrome-plated brass with Bakelite details and were highly regarded for their aesthetic appeal and functionality.
About Chase Brass & Copper Company: Chase Brass & Copper Company is a leading manufacturer of brass rod, ingot, and engineered products in the United States. Founded in 1876 in Waterbury, Connecticut, Chase entered the consumer market with a line of Art Deco household items in the 1930s, created by leading designers of the day such as Russel Wright, Rockwell Kent and Walter Von Nessen. They were usually signed with the distinctive company logo of a centaur drawing a bow. These items are sought after today as collectibles. Chase discontinued this line in the early '40s, when it turned its attention to wartime production.
