Original vintage Great Northern Railway advertising calendar artwork featuring “First Stabber,” a young Blackfeet man, after the portrait by noted artist Winold Reiss.
Created for Great Northern Railway’s famous “Route of the Empire Builder” campaign promoting travel through Glacier National Park. This image was used for the railway’s 1936 calendar.
The framed artwork displays the words “Route of the Empire Builder” along both sides. The original calendar portion is no longer present. Artwork appears mounted to a rigid backing and remains housed under glass in an older wood frame.
Condition: Noticeable age-related fading, toning, surface wear and discoloration are present. The frame also shows wear consistent with age. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. Not examined outside the frame.
