The album opens with a decorative coronation page dated May 12, 1937 and contains the complete numbered series of 50 black-and-white photographic cards.
Subjects include King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, royal tours and ceremonies, the Silver Jubilee, military appearances, and sporting scenes.
Especially interesting cards include the King playing golf, attending the 1924 FA Cup Final, appearing at Wimbledon, and members of the royal family at the Royal Tournament at Olympia.
The combination of the complete cigarette card series with its original purpose-designed album makes this much more satisfying than a loose set.
Condition
Good vintage condition. Original covers show overall toning, scattered spotting and surface soiling, edge and corner wear, and general handling consistent with age. Interior pages remain attractive and clearly legible, with some toning, spotting, and localized wear. There is visible wear and small loss along portions of the lower page edges. All 50 cigarette cards are present and remain mounted in the album. Please review photographs for full condition.
