Up for sale, is a late WWII US Military M1 helmet with a rear seam and swivel bales. The interior marking is \"539A\" with an \"S\" on the line below, a rarer helmet made by Schlueter Mfg. in Saint Louis in 1945. A site on the \'Net advises that Schlueters with a heat number in the 500s were produced in \'45, hence, my dating of the helmet. The paint looks good, even the rim, which leads me to believe that it doesn\'t have the earlier stainless steel rim. Unfortunately, there is no liner. It appears to be in good, damage free, condition, with above average paint, except some minor signs of past use.
