Beautiful vintage Dutch silver snuff box featuring exceptionally detailed figural repousse decoration. The hinged lid depicts a lively historical tavern or gathering scene with numerous figures rendered in high relief. Ornate scrolling foliate decoration surrounds the sides of the round box.
The underside carries a full group of Dutch silver hallmarks, including the LdB3 maker's mark attributed to de Leeuw den Bouter of Schoonhoven, the Dutch lion 2 second-standard silver mark indicating .833 fineness, Minerva assay mark, and an uncrowned N year letter.
The Dutch N year letter dates the hallmark to 1948. The N became crowned beginning in July 1948, while the example on this piece is uncrowned, consistent with the first half of 1948.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, patina, tarnish and oxidation consistent with a silver piece nearly 80 years old. Interior shows substantial natural patina/tarnish. Hinged lid opens as shown. It has not been aggressively polished in order to preserve its vintage character and detailing.
