Original Vintage 1948 Pontiac Flying Chief Hood Ornament – Part/Casting #510565Very cool original Pontiac hood ornament featuring the iconic Flying Chief design with large red Lucite wings/fins.This is an original vintage piece, not a reproduction. The underside is clearly stamped:MADE IN U.S.A. – 510565The ornament is approximately 78 years old and retains its original red translucent Lucite sections along with the metal Chief and full-length housing.Condition is used/original and unrestored. It shows age-related oxidation, surface wear, scratches, discoloration and patina consistent with its age. The red Lucite also shows normal age and surface wear. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.I have intentionally not restored or aggressively polished the ornament so the next owner can decide whether to preserve the original patina or restore it.Excellent piece for a Pontiac restoration, vintage GM collection, automobilia collection, garage display, man cave, or period-correct restoration project.Part/Casting Number: 510565
