Rare 1949 Florence Ceramic Madonna with Child. The photos do not do her justice. The gold work is beautiful. All fingers and toes are there, although baby Jesus hand is chipped.
. What's missing is the halos which went above the heads.
These halos were very delicate and alas have been broken off in their journey in this world. The gold line is the partial halos shown on the back of each head - is where the halo would have been attached if fully preserved.
There are no other damages noted. This figurine was only made between 1948 and 1953. Madonna and child display beautifully.
