Original 1959 Kodak Kodacolor color photograph depicting an African American man relaxing outdoors in a woven patio chair. He is dressed in a light-colored shirt and trousers, reclining with one arm behind his head.
The reverse is especially useful for dating and authentication: it is clearly printed “THIS IS A KODACOLOR PRINT Made by Kodak” and is dated JUNE 1959 – RO.
This is an authentic mid-century family snapshot and a nice example of African American everyday-life photography from the late 1950s. The outdoor setting, patio furniture, clothing, and architecture provide additional period detail.
The handwritten notation visible with the photograph indicates an approximate 3½” x 3½” size.
