ORIGINAL 1959 TOPPS FUNNY VALENTINES TRADING CARD LOT
Approximately 31 original vintage cards from the classic 1959 Topps Funny Valentines non-sport trading card series.
These unusual cards were designed as parody Valentines. The colorful fronts initially resemble innocent Valentine\'s Day cards with romantic sayings, but turning each card over reveals a humorous, sarcastic or insulting punchline.
The 1959 Topps Funny Valentines series consisted of 66 different cards and is now a recognized vintage non-sport issue.
The series is especially collectible for its wonderfully exaggerated mid-century cartoon artwork and irreverent humor. Artwork for the series is associated with legendary MAD and EC Comics artist Jack Davis.
This lot contains a wide assortment of different designs along with some duplicates.
