Little Burr Run May 29T HE Enduro Riders’ Assn has the thirdannual 250-mile national championshipenduro just about ready to put to bed.This year new territory has been invadedin southern Ohio in hopes of makingthis a more ridcable run, especially forside hacks and “B” solo riders, for with-out them the sport of enduros cannotlast.Come May 29, 6:01 a.m., the first rid-ers will be sent on their way by the vet-eran hack pilot Jack Pflug and LinKuchler, secretary of the AMA. Thenthe Enduro Riders’ president Jack Dun-can and his layout crew will try to keepyou busy for the next ten hours throughthe scenic southern Ohio hills, which atthis time of year are just blossoming intobeauty.There will only be one reason for notfinishing — motor trouble. Even if Moth-er Nature is in an unfriendly mood, thereshould be no trouble in navaga ting thecourse. This year again the run will startand end at the Capitol City club grounds,just off Route 104, approximately 14miles south of Columbus, Ohio. Afterpassing the intersection of Routes 104 and665 (going south on 104), proceed onemile, turn right and follow arrows to clubgrounds.There will be five motor size classesconsisting of both “A” and “B” riders,namely: 0 to 200cc; 201cc to 350cc: 351ccto 500cc; 501cc to 750cc; 751cc and over.Class A and B side hacks (passenger mustalso send entry). Class A and B girls solo(if six or more entries) . Open team com-petition.Little Burr layout crew were, from left,Lincoln Baird, Bud Wilson, Lou LeCrone,and Jack Duncan.Teams for open team competition maybe made up of any combination of threemotors. If you intend to ride on a team,this information must be identical on allthree entries. List the other two teammembers on the entry blank, in the spaceprovided. No organizing or changing ofteams after May 17, 1960. Remember threenames or no entry.A guide sheet will be provided for spec-tators to reach the interesting spots, sothat they will not be on the course withthe riders. The Limes that riders arc dueat these places will also be posted.Entries: Close May 17. No entry willbe accepted without entry fee of §8.00 perperson. Limited to the first four hundredriders, as that is all it will be possible toget out and back in the daylight hours.All other entries will be returned.Starting position: Each rider’s numberwill be drawn according to postmark onentry. Numbers will be drawn for eachrider on May 21 by assistant referee DukePennell, placed in an envelope with routecard and other information and may bepicked up at the club grounds SaturdayMay 28. None will be mailed.Housing: There are 11 acres of campingfacilities and good food will be availableat the club at a nominal fee. The foodis prepared by the Capitol City Club, andincidentally, those gals can cook. Thereare several motels in the area for thosewho don’t care to rough it. The prices andnames are listed on the instruction sheetsthat are sent with the entry blanks.Please take the time to properly fillout your entry blank so that the AMAreport and the results of the run will becorrect. Use pen or typewriter and print.Enduro riders arc very fortunate inhaving six national championship runs toattend this year. So, let’s give the clubssponsoring these events our support.
