Vintage Soviet postcard featuring a portrait of Jenny von Westphalen, the wife of Karl Marx.
Jenny von Westphalen (1814–1881) was the lifelong companion and intellectual partner of Karl Marx. Born into an aristocratic Prussian family, she later supported Marx throughout his political and philosophical work.
The image reproduces a portrait from the 1830s, showing Jenny as a young woman in the elegant style typical of early nineteenth-century portraiture.
