Fascinating Vietnam-era photographic group documenting U.S. Army airborne activities at Fort Benning, Georgia.
One slide clearly shows the 49th Company, 4th Student Battalion area with the signs “49th Company / 4th Student BN” and “Airborne All The Way.” The 4th Student Battalion was associated with Airborne School students during this period, with numbered student companies including the 49th Company.
Subjects visible throughout the collection include mass parachute drops, military transport aircraft, helicopters with personnel suspended/rappelling below them, parachute landings, airborne students in formation, military vehicles and equipment, training/base facilities and other scenes around the installation.
All 23 slides are period originals and are stamped OCT 68 on their original cardboard mounts. Several mounts also retain handwritten frame numbers.
This is being kept together as one historical photographic group rather than separated into individual slides.
