1974 Wonder Bread DC Comics "Superman" Trading Card
Vintage trading card of Superman from the scarce 1974 Wonder Bread DC Comics / Warner Bros. insert set. This 30-card set (11 DC Comics characters, 19 Looney Tunes characters) was distributed one card per loaf in specially marked packages of Wonder Bread. Superman is one of the set's top key cards, alongside Batman, Robin, Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin, and Wonder Woman.
Front: Full-color illustration of Superman breaking chains, on a bold yellow background, with "SUPERMAN" printed below and the "© 1974 National Periodical Publications Inc." copyright line.
Back: Black-and-white comic strip panel telling a short Superman story (rescuing oil tankers from crashing), also copyrighted 1974 National Periodical Publications Inc.
Condition: Ungraded. Corners are sharp with no rounding. Card is well-centered front and back. Front colors are bright and vibrant, with a couple of tiny light specks/print dots near the shoulder area (visible in photos, appear to be minor print-era spotting rather than damage). No creases or tears noted. Back shows light, even age-toning typical of the era, with a couple of small light marks near the top — please review photos closely, as they are part of the description.
