Collector-Grade Description
Offered here is an original 1994 Illusive Concepts Yoda limited-edition life-size display sculpture, officially authorized by Lucasfilm Ltd.
This is serial number 1361 of only 9,500 produced.
According to the original Certificate of Authenticity, this Yoda replica was individually reproduced and hand-painted from a sculpture created by Mario Chiodo. The certificate states that the figure was made of latex, the same type of material used in creating the original movie version of Yoda, and that this reproduction was offered exclusively by Illusive Concepts Originals under authorization from Lucasfilm.
Included with this piece are the original Certificate of Authenticity and the original Illusive Concepts instruction/care sheet.
The display includes the Yoda figure, fabric robe, walking stick, original black display base, and brass identification plaque. The plaque corresponds with the limited-edition numbering.
This is a substantial vintage Star Wars display piece from the mid-1990s and is now more than 30 years old. Complete examples retaining their original paperwork are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Condition: Please review all photographs carefully. This example has been displayed and shows age-related wear consistent with a vintage latex collectible of this type. There is visible surface cracking, aging and deterioration to portions of the latex, including areas of the face, ears, hands and fingers. There is also some discoloration and surface wear. The fabric robe shows age, fraying and general display wear.
The ears show particularly noticeable age-related deterioration, including cracking and areas of material loss/damage. The hands and fingers also show wear and deterioration. These issues are clearly visible in the photographs and are being disclosed so there is no misunderstanding regarding condition.
The figure still presents very well as a large vintage display piece, but it should not be considered mint or near mint.
Because latex naturally deteriorates with age, this piece should be handled carefully. The original Illusive Concepts instructions recommend keeping the sculpture away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures and harsh cleaning materials.
