Wonderful scarce pair of original vintage1940s Bakelite/Catalin crib toys by the Tykie Toy Co. of Piqua, Ohio. During its short time (1940-1952/56), Tykie became known for colorful figural crib hangers assembled from Bakelite/Catalin componentsstrung together to form articulated arms and legs.Both figures retain beautiful period colors, significant detailing, and exude considerable character.

This lot includestwo Tykie hanging crib toys:

• Black African-American Woman with yellow scalloped hat, green ruffle collar, butterscotch blouse, yellow ribbed tights, and circular flared red skirt.Measures approximately 6.75\" high (including cord) / 4.75\" high (excluding cord), 2.5\" wide, and 1.5\" deep/thick. It weighs approximately 1.4 ounces.
