Few episodes in Ranger history carry the weight of Pointe du Hoc. This 2nd Ranger Battalion challenge coin honors the Rangers who assaulted the Normandy cliffs on June 6, 1944, placing one of the battalion’s defining World War II actions directly at the heart of the design.

The obverse displays a prominent 2D RANGER BN scroll above the raised Pointe du Hoc inscription and Normandy, France.
