4 1919 Photos Washington, DC Pershing Parade Lincoln Mem, Sherman Mon, Arlington For Sale

Here are 4 old photos of Washington, D. C., taken by someone who in town sightseeing and to watch the parade honoring General Pershing, which was held on September 7, 1919. The first photo is a picture of the archway for General Pershing\'s parade. On the back is written Archway at time of Gen. Pershing\'s parade. White House in background to left. On the front of the photo, the person who originally took and owned these photos put an arrow where the White House is in the photo. If you look with a magnifying glass, you can see a building with pillars that does look like the White House. Mostly you see the archway with people standing along the street and some in the street. Looks like there is a trolley, too, in the background, but before the archway. It\'s lost in a crowd of people, so I can\'t be positive.that\'s what it is. The next photo is of the Lincoln Memorial, with a woman standing in the grassy lawn to the side of it. The woman is not identified and the only thing written on the back is the number 289. The next photo is of the old amphitheater and rostrum at Arlington National Cemetery. This was the principal assembly area until 1921 when the larger Memorial Amphitheater was built. The only thing written on the back of this photo is 838, it is smaller than the other photos but came with them in the same envelope. The last photo is one of a statue of William Tecumseh Sherman which is located in Sherman Circle in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC, in a park like setting.The photos are clear with some wear from age, like some light rough spots around the edges and corners. The photo of the Archway for Pershing\'s parade is light at the top of the photo, I think it was developed this way, the photo might\'ve been taken facing the sun.
