50s Kareka Enamel on Copper Trinket Dish Blue Gold MCM Signed 4⅛" Vintage

Beautiful vintage Kareka enamel-on-copper trinket dish, dating to approximately the 1950s–1960s.
Handcrafted from copper with fired-glass vitreous enamel, the dish features a striking abstract Mid-Century Modern design in brilliant cobalt blue, turquoise, teal, green and golden amber. The layered colors and organic forms create wonderful depth and movement beneath the glossy, smooth enamel surface.
Lines and variations visible throughout the colorful design are within the fired enamel and contribute to the unique handmade character of the piece; the surface feels smooth.
The reverse is counter-enameled in a deep green/bronze tone and is hand signed with a "K."
Kareka was an American Mid-Century enamel workshop associated with Hyannis, Nantucket and Key West, producing distinctive handmade enamel-on-copper decorative pieces. Surviving labeled examples identify the pieces as handmade Kareka works and confirm the studio's use of enamel/fused-glass decoration over copper.
