8.2 LB NATURAL LOST BASIN, ARIZONA QUARTZ FLOAT SPECIMEN — KING TUT GOLD COUNTRY

A substantial 8.2-pound piece of natural hard-rock quartz float from private property in the historic Lost Basin gold district of Mohave County, Arizona.

This is a large, heavy, completely natural specimen collected from private property in the Lost Basin/King Tut placer region, an area with a long and documented history of both placer and hard-rock gold mining.

The specimen is uncut, unpolished and untreated, with abundant quartz, iron-oxide staining, dark mineralized-looking material, fractures/brecciation and a naturally weathered surface.

A REMARKABLE GOLD-MINING LOCALITY

The material comes from the Lost Basin gold country near the historic King Tut placers, one of the most important placer areas in the Lost Basin district.

But this is not simply a placer-gold locality.

The surrounding Lost Basin Mining District contains numerous historic hard-rock/lode gold workings and mines, including the Climax Mine (Joshua Gold Mine) and the Bluebird Mine, along with other documented gold-bearing prospects and workings.

USGS geological studies document extensive gold mineralization in the Gold Basin–Lost Basin districts and report that many of the area’s lode-gold occurrences are associated with quartz-cored pegmatite-vein systems. The King Tut placer deposits are also believed to have received gold through erosion of gold-bearing quartz veins in the Lost Basin Range.

In other words, this is genuine material from an area where both the hard-rock source and the resulting placer gold deposits have a documented history.

PROVEN GOLD-PRODUCING PRIVATE PROPERTY

I personally own the private property where this material was collected and have personally recovered many ounces of gold from this property.

That does NOT mean this particular specimen has been assayed or that it contains a specific amount of gold.

Rather, it establishes the provenance of the material: this is authentic rock collected from private, proven gold-producing ground in the Lost Basin gold country.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ

This specimen is being sold as a natural geological/mineral specimen, NOT as assayed or guaranteed gold ore.

I have not had this particular specimen assayed, and I make absolutely no representation or guarantee regarding the amount of gold it may or may not contain.

There is NO guarantee that visible gold is present in this particular specimen.

It is being offered for:

• Mineral and geological collecting

• Educational purposes

• Display

• A conversation piece

• Arizona gold-country locality collecting

• Rock/mineral study

At 8.2 pounds, this is a substantial piece of natural Arizona gold-country material.

The photographs show the actual specimen from multiple angles so you can examine the quartz, iron staining, dark mineralized areas, fractures and naturally weathered surfaces.

This is not manufactured, salted, artificially treated or assembled. It is a genuine piece of natural rock collected in the Lost Basin gold district.

WHY THIS PIECE IS INTERESTING

Lost Basin has produced both placer gold and hard-rock gold, and the district has been studied extensively by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The King Tut placers are historically significant, while the surrounding district contains numerous lode workings associated with quartz veins and other mineralized structures.

For a collector, prospector, rockhound or anyone interested in the history and geology of Arizona gold, this gives the specimen something that an ordinary piece of quartz simply doesn’t have:

LOCALITY + HISTORY + SIZE + AUTHENTIC PROVENANCE.

And at 8.2 pounds, there is plenty of material here for someone who wants to study it, display it, test it, or potentially process a portion of it while preserving the remainder.
