80’s BMX Blue UKAI Speedlines Shimano Hubs, Superb OG condition Very Rare Rims For Sale

Pair of UKAI Shiny Sides! Ridiculously rare rims nowadays…These are in amazing shape, all original with the exception of the Comp 3 tyres which are as new. Hubs are matching low flange Shimano, the rear hub is a rare find in itself, it an “SX Free Hub” stamped with an EH code, denoting an August 1980 manufacturing date.Shimano developed these in 79-80 as a light weight alternative to the screwed type, the cog held in place with a snap ring, coupled to a 15T freewheel indicating a racing setup. The front is a matching Shimano, stamped DK, denoting a November 1979 manufacturing date. This is on the cusp of Shimano introducing the DX line..Both hubs run beautifully and spin forever.They are laced to the straight and true rims, with top quality Richmans spokes, no corrosion anywhere on them.The rims themselves are both fully stamped “UKAI 20x175HE MADE IN JAPAN”, the decals are original. The anodised finish has no fading, there’s a few small marks as can be seen in the pictures but they’re in fantastic condition overall for a set of rims that are not far off 50 years old! Originally fitted to early 80’s Kuwahara, Red Line, Torker, Mongoose.Ideally I’d like these to be picked up, I’m in North Wales and would gladly meet Chester/M56 area to aid this.But I am willing to post them, they’ll be well protected for their journey.
