Roman Hubbell sits at the center of the second generation of the Hubbell trading empire — the era after his father, the famous founder John (Juan) Lorenzo Hubbell built the Ganado Trading Post into the most influential Navajo trading operation in the Southwest.Roman and his brother John Lorenzo Jr. inherited and operated the Ganado post after their father’s death in 1930. Roman was the son who spent the most time physically running the Ganado post, maintaining relationships with Navajo families, overseeing pawn transactions, and managing day‑to‑day trade. Roman had son John Lorenzo Hubbell (1918-2012 (2013)) who was never involved in the Trading Post operation . This was a gift from Roman to his son, John, and part of a larger jewelry collection our family gallery obtained in 2012 and has been kept in our private museum until now.
