ITEM DESCRIPTION:QualityREPRINTof a Magazine AD (a great color copy of an original1909BLACK & WHITE AD on quality acid free paper~ a color copy shows the aged paper with the light sepia tone coloring making it an exact duplicate of the aged original) featuring NAVY BLUEJACKETS polishing a ship cannon.

This ad illustrates a couple of Navy Bluejackets cleaning a ship cannon.

This antique,early 1900\'s ad has the caption, \"12,500 BLUEJACKETS COMING HOME\" and states, \"They\'re coming home in the big Fleet. They left Hampton Roads on December 16, 1907 and have been away 14 months. During the cruise they have visited the ports in South America, the Pacific Coast of North America, Honolulu, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, the Philippines, Ceylon, Suez and the Mediterranean. They\'ve had a good time and a wonderful experience. Every one of these 12,500 bluejackets is far wiser and far bigger mentally than when he left home. Such voyages are unusual in the U.S. Navy. The Navy Department doesn\'t want any boy to enlist in the hope of getting such a wonderful trip. But the Navy Department wishes to point out that the bluejacket usually gets some travel, in home and foreign waters; always has the chance to make himself a bigger and broader man mentally and physically, and can learn almost any trade, provided he has some special aptitude...........send for \"The Making of a Man-o\'-Warsman, an illustrated booklet which tells you everything you want to know about the Navy....\"
