ANTIQUE GRAND TOUR SOUVENIR BASKET BOX BEVELED GLASS ORMOLU MONT ST MICHEL VGC For Sale

This is a wonderful French antique souvenir BOX or CASKET in the shape of a basket, displaying two different views of MONT ST. MICHEL. This piece is in great condition and displays beautifully. It dates from the late 1800\'s, has two separate openings with beveled glass, and elaborate brass ormolu. This footed box measures 3 1/2\" across, 2 1/2\" wide and stands just 3 1/2\" tall; including the height to the top of the roped metal handle adds another 2\". Thick beveled glass appears on four sides and the bottom and is metal. The clasps rest in the metal hinges and closes securely, although there is a small gap on each side. The representations of this fabulous French monument are in great condition. A treasure for those who love these souvenir boxes. Shipping is via priority mail and includes insurance.
