If you want to use an FY6900 DDS signal generator or other contemporaryRF signal source for radio alignment, you cannot employ the old \"connect a loop of wire to the output\" trick. It will not work. The 6900 and many other newer signal generators often see wire loops as short circuits. That will cause the output to shut down, and potentially damage your signal generator.
This compact coupler contains a loop antenna and the necessary capacitive isolation to be compatible with the FY6900 and similar devices. The plasticenclosure keeps those components safe. It measures about 2\"Longx 1-1/4\"Widex 5/8\"Deep. (55mm x 35mm x 15mm). Depth at the connector extendstoabout one-inch (25mm).
The BNC connector makes it compatible with many contemporarygenerators. The included Male > Male adapter makes it easy to connect the coupler directly to your generator, as shown in the first photo. Alternately, you can use your own BNC to BNC cable of any reasonable length. If you have already purchased an FY6900, it comes with the perfect BNC cable.
