Description Made In The USA Scarce New York Warehouse-Stamped American Rockingham Copper Luster Bennington School Antique 3 3/4" Individual Cream Pitcher 1848–1862

This one is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Very Nice Cream Pitcher. Offered is a documented mid-19th century American Rockingham copper-luster individual cream pitcher, MADE IN USA and dating to circa 1848–1862, bearing an original New York warehouse underglaze stamp on the base.
This authentic New England Bennington-school form was produced in the mid-1800s and wholesale distributed through Manhattan pottery jobbers. The blurred cobalt “NEW YORK” stamp visible beneath the glaze is a scarce merchant distribution mark applied prior to final firing, conclusively documenting its 19th-century American origin and New York commercial trade provenance.

The pitcher exhibits a deep copper-bronze metallic Rockingham glaze with oil-slick iridescence, reduction-firing pooling, kiln crawl, and original stilt scars — all textbook indicators of genuine early American Rockingham manufacture. The applied strap handle with thumb rest, sharply cut spout lip, hand-thrown wheel form, and heavy glaze run-off ring foot are consistent with documented New England production.
Decorated with hand-brushed cobalt floral / fern sprigs beneath the copper luster glaze, this is a scarce transitional Rockingham copper-luster hybrid, made in a smaller individual service size that is far less common than large parlor pitchers.ITEM DETAILS
