Comments:This is an extremely rare idol found near the Turkish borderin Romaniamade of a black stone, possibly soap stone. This incredible piece was carved into the shape of a bird head and has a calendar or sun wheel or eye carved into it. It's reminiscenceof the neolithic owl idols found in Spain. Perhapswere looking at an early form of this religion or ritual. Many of the neolithicsites in Romaniaare attributed to theCucuteni-Trypillia culture, but with sites like Gobekli tepe so close, who knows who really made this idol.
