Up for sale is a rare, beautifully preserved matching pair of antique Robinson Crusoe bookends, manufactured by the renowned Pompeian Bronze Company during the Art Deco era (circa 1920s–1930s).
This pair is in exceptional collector-grade condition, retaining a brilliant amount of its original factory polychrome paint highlights (vibrant blues, deep reds, and golds) over the bronze-clad electroformed base.
The intricate casting depicts Crusoe alongside his faithful dog, goat, and parrot beneath palm trees on either side and in mid-stride, carrying all of his very interesting gear.
