This beautiful Victorian transferware brush / toothbrush box was made by Brown-Westhead Moore & Co., one of Staffordshire's highly regarded potteries. Bearing the KEW pattern and British registry number Rd 69316, the design dates to 1887, placing it firmly in the late Victorian period.
These long, narrow lidded boxes were part of toilet or washstand sets, intended to hold toothbrushes, razors, grooming tools, or hair accessories. The divided interior confirms its use as hygiene storage rather than a butter dish.
