This early, hand-painted set beautifully combines a traditional Christmas Nativity scene with regional farm village characters and animals, perfect for a vintage holiday display or miniature village.Lot Includes:Nativity Figures: Mary, Joseph, and an empty wooden manger/cradle.Village/Farm Figures: A woman holding a bowl/basket and a man wearing a traditional green Alpine hat. (Figures stand approximately 3 inches tall).Farmyard Animals: 1 rooster, 2 hens, and 1 duck/goose.Condition & Material Details:Composition & Material: The figures are crafted from a classic lightweight German papier-mâché composition. The Nativity figures feature flat, reddish-orange cardboard/paperboard bases sealing the bottoms, while the farm village figures are a molded clay-plaster composite.Authentic Markings: The undersides of the figures feature clear, authentic vintage ink stamps reading "Germany", confirming their pre-war production origin.Paint & Wear: This is an honest, nearly century-old set showing typical vintage wear. There is noticeable paint chipping and flaking consistent with age, most visible on the back of the Joseph figure (please see all photos for details).
