Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic 105-year-old antique souvenir photo view book of Niagara Falls, New York, published by the renowned Curt Teich & Co. in 1921.
This book features stunning, vibrant color-tinted photographic plates highlighting historic vistas of the falls and surrounding gorge. It includes excellent historical views of long-gone attractions, including the Niagara Great Gorge Route Electric Trolley Line, an early generation of the Maid of the Mist, and the Niagara Aero Cable Car (which opened just five years prior in 1916).
The final pages also feature unique illustrations of local lore ("The White Man's Fancy" and "Legend of the White Canoe").
Note for crafters/collectors: Since the plates are individual sheets, this item is perfect for framing as vintage wall art or using in scrapbooking and paper crafts!
Condition Notes:
Overall Condition: Fair / Good antique condition.
Binding: The original binding there are two binding staples missing. The outer cover and the individual interior page leaves are hanging on by one staple. The pages stack together cleanly inside the cover jacket, but the binding is in poor condition.
Cover: Shows standard age-appropriate shelf wear, edge fraying, and spine wear. The back cover has a small surface paper lift/tear in the sky portion of the central image (see photos).
Markings: There is a name ("Raymond") neatly written in pencil/ink on a blank interior side-flap.
