Lot of antique handwritten love letters and envelopes, dating from 1926-1928. Sent from Walter in New Orleans, LA (530 Loffin Ave.) to Miss Hazel Odom in Citronelle, Alabama. Includes a 4-page handwritten letter dated March 12, 1928, signed 'Walter,' plus two original mailing envelopes (one postmarked New Orleans, LA, Nov 27, 1926). The letter contains heartfelt personal content — apologies, discussion of working at 'the Interstate,' attending Tulane at night, tennis, dances, and enduring affection. A wonderful piece of Jazz Age Americana / genealogical / social history ephemera. Condition: shows age — paper is toned, brittle at edges, with tears, small chips, creases, folds, and staining consistent with nearly 100 years of age. Envelopes are worn with edge damage. Handwriting remains fully legible. Sold as-is.
