Antique-1930\'s HATCHET Bridgeport USA-BSA. Polished Restomod w/ Custom Scales For Sale

Rare and highly sought after, 1930\'s, antique, collectable, BSA (Boy Scout of America) hatchet made by Bridgeport Hardware Mfg. Corp.in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This is the official Boy Scout hatchet that Bridgeport started making in 1929 and was advertised as \"virtually indestructible\" and suitable for any and all tasks, including emergency situations. Forged, one-piece, hardened/tempered tool steel, made to hold a sharp edge under heavy use. This lightly used survivor has been meticulously cleaned, refurbished, polished and honed to perfection, with custom, thick, hand-carved and sculpted, hardened & stabilized, lacquered Curly Maple scales. The original factory finish on this one would have been red, with Hickory scale inserts. This presentation-display hatchet is considered a \"restomod\", like *American Restoration* would do, making it \"better than new\". Weighs 2lbs. 13\'\' AOL. 5\'\' wide head w/ a 3\'\' cutting edge. Professionally restored and modified. A custom and hand-made, thick leather sheath was made for this hatchet, as well. A very cool, unique and collectable piece of American history!!!
