Antique Santo de Vestir / Cage Religious Figure – Approx. 40” Tall
Beautiful and unusual large antique-style religious Santos cage figure featuring a traditional open wooden bastidor/cage body, polychrome painted head and hands, and glass eyes.
The figure measures approximately 40 inches tall and includes the purple garments, velvet-style cape with decorative trim, lace covering, halo, and the beaded devotional necklace/rosary with multiple coin-style medallions shown in the photographs.
This piece comes from a loving collector’s estate of antique dolls and collectibles and was displayed for many years.
The figure shows considerable age and wear consistent with an older collectible. There is paint loss, cracking/crazing, surface wear and deterioration, particularly around the hands and wrists. Clothing and accessories also show age-related wear. Please carefully review all photographs, including the photos showing the figure without its clothing, as they are an important part of the description and show the construction and condition.
