Antique BOYEMACO curtain fixture store display cabinet by James H. Boye Manufacturing Co. of Chicago, Illinois.
An exceptionally scarce and visually striking early 20th century general store / hardware store countertop display cabinet used for selling curtain rod fixtures and hardware. This original merchant sales system features the iconic rotating top dial used by store clerks to determine proper curtain fixture configurations based on window size and rod style.
Unlike most surviving examples that are empty or heavily stripped, this cabinet still retains a substantial quantity of original brass hardware components, rods, labeled envelopes, inventory sheets, instruction paperwork, and interior compartment organization. (some pieces still in original wrapping)
The cabinet features beautiful original graphics, dovetail wood construction, a hinged lid, and a functioning rotating selector dial. The brass components are stamped “Boye” and appear original to the display.
