Antique Bromo-Caffeine advertising box from Keasbey & Mattison Co., Ambler, PA. Circa late 1800s to early 1900s.
This is a great piece of early pharmaceutical advertising, featuring the slogan:
“Ask your druggist for Bromo-Caffeine – The Best Harmless Remedy for Headaches - From Nervous Excitement - Mental Exhaustion - Physical Fatigue of Traveling”
I have placed it in a plastic bag as some of the powdered contents are leaking. I will package tightly to minimize this.
Details:
• Approx. 4” x 3” x 2”
• Original paper-covered box with printed graphics on all sides
• Still tied with old string as found
• Appears to retain original contents (likely magnesium carbonate as labeled)
• Contents have not been removed or disturbed
Condition:
• Structurally solid and complete
• General age wear, edge wear, and surface fading
• No missing box panels
