This is a fabulous piece of historical fashion history and is in good shape. It's a pressed board, cardboard, thick chip board box from the Cawston's Ostrich Farm in California. Most likely from the late Victorian Era to Early Edwardian Era. Gorgeous ostrich feathers for the massive hats that were popular during these eras were packed into these boxes for sale in stores or ostrich feather fans. There are some issues with the corners of the box, most likely made from the handling that has occurred over its more than 100 years. A fabulous piece for any hat or fashion collection!
