This antique Charles Appel "Sunset" print with bubble glass in a gold Chicago Portrait Company frame is a stunning piece of decorative collectible featuring an art print on cardboard "Sunset" by Charles Appel. Charles Appel was born in Brooklyn, NY and is known for his romantic landscapes and marine paintings. Most of his life was spent in East Orange, New Jersey. He was born in 1857 and died in 1928. The frame is made of gesso with ornate decor that flows across the arched top with a shell or scroll crest in the top center flanked by flowers, more flowers on the sides and decorative corners and has bubble glass / convex glass with a Victorian style design. It has a rectangular shape with dimensions of 19.8 inches in length, 14.2 inches in height. The frame is designed for hanging and rear-loading photo insertion, making it perfect for displaying a single photo. The clear glass front showcases the beauty of the art print and sunset scene by CP Appel, adding a touch of elegance to any home decor. The cardboard art print is stamped on the bottom Sunset by C.P.
