Antique Combination Ladder Co Providence RI Wooden Fire Truck Tool Box Painted For Sale

• Brand & History: Manufactured by the Combination Ladder Company of Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 1884, the company was a well-known manufacturer of fire safety equipment, chemical fire engines, and apparatus through the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
• Design Details: A rugged, purpose-built wooden storage box that originally mounted directly onto a fire engine. The top lid features a deliberate slanted design, which was crafted to easily shed water and protect equipment in wet firefighting environments.
• Authentic Character: Showcases an incredible weathered patina with the original stamped manufacturer's plaque on the top and a heavy-duty iron handle (this might have been added after it's fire fighting days). The interior and underside still display remnants of the original faded "fire engine red" paint, and the bottom contains the original mounting holes used to secure it to the fire truck.
• Measurements: The box measures 15 1/2" wide, 6" tall, and 9" deep.

Item Condition: This antique fire truck box is in expected condition for its age with some areas of missing paint, surface rust on the original hinges, lock, and handle, and a few wood splits, yet it still wonderfully retains some of its original red paint on the interior and bottom - see photos for a full condition assessment.
