Charming antique-to-vintage lot of two miniature Christian devotional collectibles.
The silver-tone metal Bible-form rosary case features a raised image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the front, dimensional spine and page detailing, and an ornate cross design inside. The interior is clearly marked “MADE IN CZECHO-SLOVAKIA.” Based on the country mark, construction and decorative style, the case is believed to date from approximately the interwar era, circa 1920s–1930s.
The hinged case displays age-appropriate patina, oxidation, darkened areas, scratches, scuffs and general surface wear as photographed. No silver or precious-metal fineness mark has been observed, and the metal content has not been tested.
Also included is a genuine printed miniature Holy Bible containing over 230 pages of the New Testament. It was produced by Popular Products, Inc., 2837 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, and printed in the USA, believed to date from approximately the mid-20th century. The black cover retains remnants of its original gold lettering.
The miniature Bible is in fragile vintage condition, with substantial cover and binding wear, fading, splitting and separation, edge wear, and interior tearing as shown. Please handle it carefully.
These two pieces were acquired separately and are not represented as an original matched set. Although the miniature Bible fits inside the metal case, the fit is extremely snug and removing it could cause additional damage. The pieces will therefore be packed separately within the shipping package.
No rosary is included. Please review all photographs closely for the exact condition, markings and details of both pieces.
