Antique Drocourt Carriage Clock c1860 Smaller Size For Sale

A rare smaller carriage clock by Drocourt. The movement strikes the half hour and hours on a bell and repeats the last hour. (French clocks used bells up until around 1860 when most switched to gongs.) The clock also has the alarm function, though no one uses that feature these days. The clock was originally sold at a Paris retailer around 1860. The movement has the Drocourt \"DC\" stamp seen at the bottom left of the bell.A superb Gorge case houses the movement. The thick beveled glasses are all perfect, no chips or cracks. The last picture is to compare the size against a normal sized striking clock. It stands just 6\" tall with handle up, 3.25\" wide and 3\" deep.The 2\" dial is also perfect.The clock has clearly been very well cared for and is the finest example and an excellent investment..
