Antique E.C. Stearns & Co. cast-iron saw-filing vise featuring the Wentworth patent design. Manufactured in Syracuse, New York, and dating to the early 1900s, with the design patented January 31, 1911. Used to hold a handsaw blade securely while sharpening or setting the teeth.
