Two small brown wool/felt devotional scapular panels, connected by an old brown ribbon/cord.
The front panels feature delicate hand embroidery with floral motifs in colored threads.
The reverse of one panel bears a printed religious image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the Child Jesus, with the inscription:
“N.D. DU M. CARMEL – PRIEZ POUR NOUS”
Beautiful example of traditional French Catholic folk devotion and religious textile work.
Condition: Very old and fragile. Significant wear, losses and tears to the wool/felt edges, faded printed images, staining and deterioration to the original ribbon. Embroidery remains visible and attractive. Please carefully examine all photos.
