Very Rare Antique French Ivory Box with four Bone Handle Wax Seal Set. Box is personalized with the "Douglas" Clan Crest of Scotland, "Forward" & Brave Heart & initials "KD". The Heart of the Bruce on the Clan Douglas crest is a crowned, often winged human heart, symbolizing Sir James "The Black" Douglas. Historical moment tells of a great battle in the Crusade in 1330, where Sir James Douglas shouted, "Forward! Lead on, brave heart! Douglas shall follow thee. The accompanying banner bears the motto "Forward", crest symbolises loyalty, sacrifice and devotion.
Four bone handle wax seals in set: Peace Dove with Olive Branch Seal, "B" Framed Initial Seal, Crown Seal Wax Seal, "A" stylized Initial Seal.
Made in the 1800's - 1880's United Kingdom, France, Scotland. High quality,small bone box, with Dore bronze hardware. Inside are three compartments to place the Wax Seals. Box measures 4" Long x 2 1/2" Wide x 3/4" High, box weighs 5.6 ozs.. Push button box release.
