Antique GE ROOM AIR CONDITIONERS AUTHORIZED DEALER Lighted Sign Fluted Trim For Sale

This is a really neat piece of mid-century GE advertising that appears to be fairly uncommon. I have not been able to locate another identical example or any direct sales comps. The sign features the classic redGE meatball script logo. Thefluted/ribbed aluminum trim and rounded metal cabinetgive it a great period look characteristic of commercial advertising displays from the era. This would have originally been displayed by an authorized GE appliance dealer to advertise GE room air-conditioning units.

Condition:The sign is in unrestored vintage condition and shows age-related wear throughout. There is rust present on the metal cabinet, although much of it appears to be surface rust. The cabinet could potentially be cleaned up and repainted/restored if desired, or left as-is for its original patina.

IMPORTANT:The original electrical cord was already heavily frayed and has since come apart, sothe sign will need to be rewired before being plugged in or used.Prior to the cord separating, I was able to test the sign and photograph it illuminated, confirming thatthe internal light was working at that time. The illuminated photo shown in the listing was taken before the cord came apart. For safety, the sign is being sold asneeding rewiring/electrical service before use, and the current electrical components should be inspected by a qualified person. No bulb will be included when shipped.

The advertising face presents nicely for its age, with expected wear, marks, discoloration and other signs of use. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
